I had a tech come out to install a 2nd M1500 tape library with 2 SDLT320 drives (same as our current configuration). When I run <inquire>, the robotic arm and all 4 tape drives were being seen, but when I run Legato Networker, it still only sees two tape drives. I looked up some info on the web and tried to delete the current autochanger, then run <jbconfig> from the DOS command, but it keeps returning the error message <library is becoming ready or is not online>... any suggestions as to how to get the additional library configured and the tape drives to show on the Networker GUI? Thanks in advance!

do you have the 2nd license? you need an autochanger license for each library you have managed by NW.

I got an upgrade for the slots, but the autochanger is suppose to be viewed as one single unit, just with 4 drives now instead of 2

ctrash, your statements are misleading - you talk about additional drives (only) but also about an additional library.

The SCSI command "Inquiry", initiated by NW's inquire command, queries the SCSI bus(ses) and returns all SCSI devices found. However, it does not talk to the OS and reports the configured devices.

My suggestions are:
- Make sure sure that the drives are "seen" by the OS.
Proceeding without this prerequisite is useless!
- Delete and recreate the jukebox in NW - at least with
NW 7 you can also use the jbedit command to change the
current configuration.

Good luck.
