    peter, i think i understand your situation. if you do a route print on your client you will see that you have a 0.0.0.0 route to the GW of your dialup ISP. this has to be the case since that's the route used to make initial non-encrypted communication to the external interface of your VPN host...

    actually it's a bit more complex than just running IE in kiosk mode. in that scenario, a user simply alt-f4's and bam, he/she's on you desktop. you could also kill the explorer service in addition to running in kisok mode but the a user could kill you IE window, ctrl-alt-del, hit file and run...
