    CS1000M to CS1000E conversion

thread798-1498634 Does anyone know of a tool or a plan for Avaya to make a tool for this data base conversion? To me it is ridiculous there is not one. This is what everybody is doing now.

    SSH to CS1000ELAN IP

Yes I know about the rlogin but is the offical answer ssh is not supported on the 1000m? Seems odd because it connects and ask for username I just cant seem to find a user and password it likes? Seems I may just need to give ssh access to a user or something like that?

    SSH to CS1000ELAN IP

I have been upgrading some pbx's to 5.5 and noticed I was getting some messages about ssh so I figured I would give it a shot. So I fired up putty and logged right into one of them with no issue using admin1 and admin2. Then I tried the other one and it keeps saying access denied. They are both...

What client do you use? Hyperterminal?

I used to be a Procomm man and still use it but I now find myself more and more using Secure CRT by vandyke software. It supports most everything Procomm does plus ssh, rlogin (which lets you telnet to M1 switches). It also supports scripts. Its about $70 for a single user licence. I dont know...

    IP on SL100

I compleatly agree with John. Stay away from the SL100 belive me it is a very painful transition in many ways. Put in another 81c and network them together (over IP if u wish). They can really be virtualy seemless to the end user. You can still keep one VM and such.

    IP to Analog possible?

You have a couple of choices. You could get an audio codes gateway. It could give analog ports over IP if you have h323 peer networking trunks but the cheaper, simpler, better option is going to be get one of the new 2033 audio conf ip phones but you may have to be on 4.0 to use them

    callpilot -vnc

PC anywhere is the only supported remote access software. Anything else is going to cause your call pilot to not be supported. I agree that there are many other choices but use them at your own risk. PC anywhere works fine. We use it all the time on many different callpilots on different platforms.

    Sychronizing the Time

What Nortel needs to do is step up to the plate and start supporting N etwork T ime P rotocol like every other modern peice of network equipment but why go to all that trouble in software development when everyone already hes these nice procom scrips but oh yea now you have to make sure the PC...

    CS1000E

No I think Nortel needs to rethink this whole platform it sucks. If you think it was the vendors fault think again because Nortel Professional services was contracted to do the install and the turned around and sent their own contractor out.

    CS1000E

Well I have spent the past few weeks with the viens on my forehead poking out. We were installing a CS1000E. I hope to never do that again. The fact that there are no trunks except copper in the E brought many issues to light I had never thought of. All digital trunks must come through the...

    Hyperteminal with IP connection

This question has been answered at least 10 times. You cannot use hyperterminal you must use a rlogin client. Do a search for rlogin

    i2004 echo

If you are voip the echo is probably not coming frim the Telco. Make sure your phones and cards and sigserv are on the latest firmware and have the latest patches and makes sure you are getting no jitter or latency errors in your log files which would point to a data network issue.

    I2004 phone will not register

the new type phones use a different firmware. You will need to add that firmware to the ITG cards as well as keep the old stuff there. Just consider them a different set type kinda.

    DO I NEED SIGNALING SERVER?

No you dont have to have one but I would get on. They are pretty cheap and work gooood.

    Q.SIG and the Nortel way?

You may be stuck but make sure you have all the correct patches and if you are willing to pay or pull enough weight you may be able to get nortel to write a patch just for you. Other that that hang in there mabey it wont be to much longer till we can start tieing these things over IP instead of...
