meneerB had a good idea. On our system, while the PBX has an analog line from the carrier, Voicemail uses an analog line on the PBX. Looking for a station identified as Audix or Voicemail may be the answer.

Some spreadsheets seem to flow left to right, but some flow top to bottom. If I set the "Move selection after Enter" direction to "Right", it is "Right" for all spreadsheets.
Is there a way to keep the setting unique to each spreadsheet?
Thanks...

I can't believe that the system doesn't keep track of the last time a Voicemail password was changed. And we strongly suspect it keeps track of the last time the user logged in.
I'm looking for the ability to review this in a report format. (I could do this years ago on the Rolm system, but...
I'd suggest entering CHAnge HUnt-group n (where n is the number of the hunt group). On either the 3rd or 4th screen, you will see the extensions of the hunt group members. Simply change, add or delete the extensions as required. Don't forget to save your work!

BTW, for users who complain about messing their hair, many headsets have an "over the ear" option. That might be worth exploring in the interests of improving compliance.

In my client's site, the user retains the DID as they move throughout the building or get promoted or whatever. The number is known not only by co-workers but also their personal contacts (wife, girlfriend, daycare, etc.)
There was a time we ran out of DIDs and had to start assigning extensions...
Good morning!
Does anyone know how to quiesce a trunk or card, that is, allow existing calls to finish but not allow new calls to start?
If you wanted to perform service on a card, you wouldn't want to simply pull it and disrupt any active calls. But you wouldn't want new calls to start...
84Mike,
On our system, I have an autoattendant (x7962) set up to dial by name. On screen 3, buttons 3 through 9 use extension e and then transfer (treatment). Button 0 is set up to call-answer to an audix extension to get the names directory.
Give it a try.

Our Intuity system requires users to change their passwords every 180 days. And as long as the new password is different from the old password, the system's happy.
But the IT Security folks are not. They want the system to force password changes every 90 days and keep 15 password history.
Is...
Set up a button with "AUT-MSG-WT". You'll have to enter the extension with the common mailbox. Should work. Good luck!

We don't permit indiscriminate offsite forwarding on our site. I can post the technique we use to forward to a specific number, if anyone's interested.
Thanks.

I remember from my Rolm days that female voices could sometimes get cut off... something to do with a relatively monotone voice in just the proper frequency range. Never could solve that problem other than encouraging the callers to be more animated in their messages.
Hope this helps... ;)...
I believe the problem can also be solved on the 2nd screen of the station record. Change "Auto Select Any Idle Appearance" to "Y" and that may do the trick.

Another possibility is to set up a 6408D set (We only use the 64xx series of phone sets). The first 3 buttons are call appearances of the first line. Then set up the next three buttons as bridged appearances of the second line.
I'd then use button 7 for the message waiting light for the 2nd...
Today, there are 6210 analog sets installed by badge dispensers at several entrances to the plant. If someone picks up the handset, they're connected to Security using the Hotline Destination. (We use 6210 sets because they support the Hotline Destination feature, which the digital sets don't...
On my system, preceeding the name with either * or ~ works to hide the name from the directory.
On a slightly related note, is there a way to view the directory while using ASA? (It's viewable while onsite, using a display-capable phone set, but it would be very handy to be able to list the...
We do this frequently. We don't allow indescriminate offsite forwarding because of toll fraud concerns, so this is our process:
1. Identify a non-DID extension to be used; this will take a caller to the offsite number.
2. Enter DISPlay AAR Analysis 1. You could use a 2 or 3. In any case...
I haven't seen any. We use Unex headsets and their amplifier has a short line cord which plugs into the set's handset outlet while the handset cord plugs into the other outlet on the amplifier. We then set up a button labelled "Headset" (typically the bottom button on the set). (On a...
