Gosh this is frustrating. Ok let me try to explain the whole problem. In my office, my computer is computer 1 and it is also the server for the rest of the office. I have a timekeeping program that i wrote a few years ago that has worked simply and flawlessly for many years.
Computer 2, 3 , 4...
Received the Startalk Flash 2.1 software today and swapped it in the startalk unit. I'm having a problem. i did initialise the programming back to defaults, then activated feature codes, then initial set-up configuration. I was able to set up some mailboxes. When i try to access the company...
I'm confused. You state that I can assign lines to ring at the ATA's DN but as I stated, I don't have an analog terminal adapter. Is there any way to use an analog device like an answer machine if I don't have an ATA?

I figured that out overnight. I've gone and ordered v2.1. With these systems, i guess there is no way to wire up a standard old answering machine since i don't have an analog adapter? I was hoping to at least be able to receive messages with something until the v2.1 card comes in.
Curlycord, I followed your procedure for startup and the programming was very easy. What a difference between 3.0 and 6.1. However, I now have a problem with the Starflash 1.5 that is attached to it. I didn't change anything on the starflash and i believe i have the DN (230) programmed for the...
The NVRAM cartridge came with the 6.1. The MICS 3.0 cartridge is self contained and cannot be upgraded. curlycord, you mentioned about powering down when it says applying the template and swap software. I presume you meant to swap the entire NVRAM cartridges since you can't swap the software cards.
Originally before installing the Caller Id, i didn't have to have the starflash set to answer the lines. Trying what you explained does work...sort of. It works to ring the phones and then after several rings, the starflash does answer and do it's stuff. The sort of is that I set the number of...
This has me baffled a bit. Have a Nortel system with MICS 3.0. I had the startalk flash set-up so that if the call was no answered after 4 rings, then it would take over with CCR, etc. The Prime set for all lines are set to 230 (The startalks ext). This worked fine....until...installed a new...
I have a nortel system with MICS 3.0 and have recently purchased a MICS 6.1 module. The system is not installed yet so i was just planning on taking out the mics 3.0 module and installing the 6.1 and start from scratch on all the programming. Will this work or is there something special that i...
Success. The "Forward on Busy" is set to NONe and the Forward no Answer" is set to the voicemail extension (230) and now it works correctly.
Thank you all!
Curlycord:
Sorry to seem a bit dense here, but when you say leave "Forward on no answer" alone, do you mean that it too should be set to None or that I should leave it set to 230.

By the way, I am not currently using the Auto Attendant features. I just want to use the voice mail features at present, so the startalk is not set to anwswer any lines.

After some trial and error, i believe the problem i am experiencing may be in the Startalk Flash (on port 230). On extension 221, what should i have the "Forward to busy to : 230" and the "Forward no answer to:230" so in both cases the caller would go to the voicemail of 221. Obviously that is...
I am experiencing something strange, so I am probably going to run the startup programming again to wipe to factory defaults. However, until i make a decision about upgrading to 6.1, let me explain the problem to see if any of you have a solution. I have three incoming lines. The DNs are all the...
Without the exact manual this it is quite frustrating to program this older software. I'm thinking about simply purchasing a MICS 6.1 software cartridge off ebay. I am also trying to use a Starflash version 1.5 with the system. Can anyone tell me if i will run into problems trying to upgrade to...
Unfortunately wedophones.com did not list the manual for 1.1, 2.0, or 3.0. These versions are different from 4 through 7. (4 to 7 are very similar) I already have the manual for 4 and 6.
The main problem is that the programming structure/hierarchy is different and programming features are not...
