    Interrupted defrag

Oh that's not the half of it! Our cluster is configured for geographic fail-over to our Business Recovery site, out mail routers are all virtual, and we haven't even implemented 2003 yet but we've started planning our 2007 migration. We literally have 24-7-365 uptime requirements to feed webmail...

    Interrupted defrag

Thanks for the reply - managed to get everything sorted in the end. The database size was reduced from just under 16Gb to 4Gb so in this case it was worth carrying out, but I do take your point. I just copied the original priv and pub database files back into the path (overwriting the half...

    Interrupted defrag

I was running a defrag on my priv.edb and it was about 60% through the 15Gb when the DOS box that the defrag was running in was shut - effectively halting the defrag. When I restarted the defrag I started getting Jet errors. thankfully I'd taken a copy of both priv.edb and I'm now in the...

    Usage monitoring

Can any of you recommend any software that can be used to monitor mail usage by individuals, monitor conversations threads, and that kind of thing? Primarily I want this for Exchange 2K3, but if it works on 5.5 so much the better. Thanks.

    Embedded graphics in mails

Thanks mate, it's been doing my brain case in for the last month. I've spoken to our network monkeys to see if they've got any packet filtering going on but they run a LES10 circuit straight into the same core router we use on this site. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Embedded graphics in mails

I'm afraid not. We have three Exchange 5.5 servers but all outbound mail is routed through a single bridgehead box, and this is the only server that routes mail to the outbound mail router.

    Embedded graphics in mails

We use InterScan Messenging Security Suite on our mail routers. On the Exchange side we use Trend and it's associated Exchange Agent.

    Embedded graphics in mails

Hey all, this sounds like a question from an MCSE exam but I promise you it isn't. We have an Exchange 5.5 SP4 server serving users on several different sites through either LES10 circuits or straightforward fibre runs. We run the Internet Mail Connector to our outbound mail router. All our...

    Exchange 5.5 Host Unreachable

Hey guys, did this problem ever get a resolution? I'm having the same issues now - where mails get queued in the Outbound Awaiting Delivery queue - and some of the attachment sizes are also being misreported. I'm running Exchange 5.5 SP4 on an NT4.0 SP6a server with Trend ScanMail. Mail routing...

Exploding message sizes and clogged up IMS queues

Just been playing around a bit, and if I zip the .pdf up the size remains true to it's original.

Exploding message sizes and clogged up IMS queues

Hello All, I'm running 3 Exchange 5.5 SP4 servers, with one acting as a bridgehead to our inbound/outbound mail routers. I've noticed that there are regularly mails being queued in the "Outbound Messages Awaiting Delivery" queue on the IMC which are reported as being 50-200Mb+ in size. I know...

Have you recently had your network account recreated, or moved domains?

Migration to Exchange 2003 from NTMail

At present we run NTMail as a POP only mail server. All of our external e-mail comes into this server, then is either forwarded to Exchange 5.5 boxes (using MX entries), or held in situ for users POP clients to connect to using Outlook. We also have several forwarding groups whereby an incoming...

Exchange 2003 - Max no. of users

Hello All, Dead simple one this. Does anybody know the maximum number of user accounts an Exchange 2003 server can handle? Whether it's Microsofts own recommendation or just from your own experience, I don't mind. Thanks in advance.

Outlook2000 Synchronisation with Exchange 5.5 problems

Ah, that's the killer. All of the laptops have always been based in the building the server has moved to! I'll get them to log into a PC and see if the problem re-occurs. Thanks for the assist!

Outlook2000 Synchronisation with Exchange 5.5 problems

Physically moved to another building but connected to the original network domain infrastructure through a VLAN. No IP changes at all. Connection through a Cisco switch. As far as I'm aware the laptops aren't configured differently, but I'll check with our Desktop Team. If the staff affected...

Outlook2000 Synchronisation with Exchange 5.5 problems

We've recently moved our mail server (only physically moved the box) and now all of our laptop users are complaining about a small login box that keeps appearing when they try to check their mail. It asks for Username, Password, and Domain. When they enter their Domain login password nothing...
