I think the reason Vonage works as well as it does is because they have peering arrangements with the major broadband providers. Anyone know anything about this? Who's your internet service provider?

That's a good solution, we do that for remote control. The only problem is that the ip still changes.. so get some service like dynip to make it easier on yourself.
