Our Witness server seems to record everything. We would like to tell it to exclude certain destinations during call transfer. Is it possible to do this?
Any opinions on how long it takes to go from being a Nortel Meridian tech responsible for adds, moves, scripting to an Avaya 97xx w/ Call Center Elite, CMS & AES?
In the Avaya environment we will be using 3rd pary CTI from Genesys so there will also be some vector programming required.
Thanks!
Coming from a C/C++ background, I am still wondering why Java doesn't provide network byte order conversion routines like htonl(), nthol(), htons(), ntohs() etc. Seems like most Java apps I see use ASCII streams. But what if you have to interface w/ a legacy app that uses variable length packets...
I am happy with XP Pro, sure a Service Pack would be welcome. But a new OS already? That sucks from a personal standpoint and an IT standpoint. Besides XP Pro has not been out long enough to kill off. MS may be "testing" the waters so to speak.
Are you sure you checked Documents and Settings for your old account info? If you created a new account by say, disjoing a domain and then rejoining, you will have a separate and distince account as far as XP Pro is concerned. The good thing is you can go out to Documents and Settings to...
I would write a script to set the permissions. There is no other clean way I know of than that. However you have to have programming knowledge to write VBScript or Perl.
Good Luck !
Make sure your DNS is listed as the Preferred DNS for your clients (regardless of 98, ME, 2000 etc.) and the only DNS. Then make sure your DNS on 2000 Server points to itself. Using NSLOOKUP you should be able to resolve client names on your network. You should also be able to resolve your...
Is there a direct need to run the full footprint of Outlook on the Terminal Server? If you are using the email for alerts for say an adminisrator account, why not use a lighter email package or even hotmail. Given the resource utilization of Outlook, it is not a recommended app for any server.
Duplicate IP addresses from DHCP come from either more than one server offering up DHCP services or a DHCP address overlapping a static IP elsewhere in your LAN/WAN.
In both cases it boils down to ranges. You set the allowable ranges for your DHCP clients. Make sure if you have more than one...
2 Antiviruses are not better than one. Assuming you could even get the two to peacefully coexist would u even want evey friggen I/O to be double filtered? Can u say SLOW? I have to say one is a necessary evil these days, two is just plain unnecessary.
There is no such thing as Bug Eliminator. All such a program could do is try and catch Memory Violations and Interrupts. What on earth could it do for a foreign application it knows nothing about?
At the end of the day, quality engineering breeds better programs. Insist on higher standards and...
Losing the Admin password or any password for the matter has to be one of the most painful things we face in IT. That box sitting in the corner of your office, yes you could reinstall the OS - but wouldn't it be easy to change the password and reboot?
Thankfully I found a solution that I would...
Thanks to every one for the tips but alas still no Join. So I wanted to pass on my update after a long evening. Using Microsoft's Support Tools 'nltest', 'netdom' and 'ldp' you can peform a fair bit a diagnostic work; especially if you have taken on a quest like me. I can now confidently know...
Say what? My Windows 2000 clients can join the domain no problem. My Windows XP Pro SP1 gets dreaded error "The RPC Server is unavailable".
Note: DNS server is working, I can resolve its address via NSLOOKUP, browser the Internet, etc. In my LAN, the only DNS is my DNS, it is ALWAYS...

If you have a list Symposium Error Codes, partial or massive, I would greatly appreciate if you shared it. I will be glad to share the dozen or so I have with you in exchange.
If you have ever had the pleasure of developing a 3rd Party Call Control application for Nortel, e.g. soft phone or a CTI telephony adaptor, you are probably familiar with those 4 digit error codes in hex. Naturally Symposium and the M1 do not emit these codes without due consideration. In fact...
