    Restricting access to OWA

I'm about to introduce OWA onto my Exchange 2000 server, but I only want a small group of people to be able to use it as I'm worried about the streaming file (priv.stm) growing to an unmanageable size. Does anyone know if it's possible to grant or restrict access to OWA in this way ?

    Last accessed date

We have around 120GB worth of documents and spreadsheets on one of our corporate file servers, though I suspect that around a third of these files are wasting space as they've never been opened by any member of staff for years. What I need is to be able to proof this so I can archive off all...

What are the BEX files ?

I just ran out of disk space on the C drive of the server that houses our BAckup Exec software. While looking to clear some space I noticed that there was 1.8Gb worth of files in the c:\ProgramFiles\Veritas\BackupExec\NT\Data directory, most of which were HTML and XML files beginning BEX0... Are...

    Cisco VPN not working

We have about 40 people using VPN software to access our network through our Cisco Pix 515 firewall, but just one person cannot get their connection to work. The person in question has quite a unique setup at home, in that she has several computers all linked up to the Internet at once, I think...

    Mail not being automatically delivered

Don't think I've run the /regserver command before. Any advice would be very well received. Thanks very much.

    Mail not being automatically delivered

I appreciate your point, but what I'm hoping to achieve is specifically for these two PC's to automatically refresh when new mail arrives, without the need for manual intervention. All the other 180 PC's in the office manage to do it so I'm stumped as to why these don't.

    Mail not being automatically delivered

Could you please explain what's meant by running detect and repair ? I'm not familiar with how to do this. We have tried re-installing Office but it made no difference and the problem still occurred. Thanks

    Mail not being automatically delivered

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if they have to double-click on the Inbox then surely it's the same as clicking on a different folder, in that it's forcing the screen to refresh but not actually solving the problem of why it's not refreshing automatically ?

    Mail not being automatically delivered

We have something odd happening with a couple of Outlook 97 users. Each have their inbox open but don't receive new mail until they change to a different folder. For example, one of them hadn't received mail for an hour, but as soon as they moved from their Inbox to their Deleted Items folder...

    Characters

We have a PC in the office that is behaving strnagely in that it has developed a habit of changing the pound sign into a J, the The Euro symbol into a question mark and substituting various Greek or Russian characters for normal Greko-Roman letters. The normal alt key symbol insertions don't...

    MUVPN causing PC to reboot

I'm having a bizarre problem with one of my remote users. She's using MUVPN6.1.1 client on an XP PC in conjunction with a BT broadband line, and sometimes when she's in the process of copying across files from our company network the PC for some reason shuts down and reboots itself. This...

How many disks are present ?

Without physically looking at the server or re-booting it, how can I tell from within W2K server what combination of disks a server has ? I know it has mirrored drives giving me 72GB of available space, but I want to know if there are 4 x 36GB drives or 2 x 72GB. I thought there might be some...

Word vanishing after mail is sent

My boss at work has found that sometimes when he sends an external email and types his name at the bottom of the message, by the time it arrives at it's destination his name has been cut off it. He's using Outlook 97 and our mail goes through Exchange 2000, then Mailsweeper 4.3. Could any of...

    Backing up SQL databases

We already backup SQL databases on four servers and I'm trying to add server to the list that also has SQL databases to be backed up. The previous ones were set up by someone else so I'm not sure how to do it. I'm adding the new server to the existing job, ticking the SQL server box but when I...

    USB card problem

I recently installed a Belkin 5 port USB 2.0 card into my PC, which is a Compaq Evo running XP Pro. I did this because my PC only had a USB 1.1 card which wasn't up to date enough to work with my iPod. When I switched the PC back on Windows recognised the card immediatley and automatically...

Cannot browse the web with VPN client activated

We've tried it with and without the WINS settings. At the moment all TCP/IP settings for the connection are currently left blank.

Cannot browse the web with VPN client activated

We've around twenty home users that connect to the office network via MUVPN clients. A few of them have found that once they activate their VPN client they can no longer browse the web. Between them they are using a wide variety of different ISP's but I solved all but one of these problems by...
