Cannot browse the web with VPN client activated

We've around twenty home users that connect to the office network via MUVPN clients. A few of them have found that once they activate their VPN client they can no longer browse the web. Between them they are using a wide variety of different ISP's but I solved all but one of these problems by simply changing the Virtual Adapter settings from Disabled to Preferred. The user that still has the problem really needs to both browse the web and access the office network at the same time.
The machine is running W2K with MUVPN 6.1.1
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get round it ?

Does your user have their WINS settings set to your server? If so, I found that this will interfere with browsing HTTP but not browsing the VPN.

We've tried it with and without the WINS settings.
At the moment all TCP/IP settings for the connection are currently left blank.
