Windows Shares disappear on server reboot

Thanks Geographers! Ours is hooked up the same way (external array connected via fiber). We're wondering if maybe windows is trying to create a share before the controller comes up and it can't see the drive. I have a feeling we'll be rebuilding ours as well. Thanks for the help!

Windows Shares disappear on server reboot

Unfortunately I can't help you, but wanted to let you know we're in the same boat. It's only one of our servers that's doing it. It's win2k w/sp3 also. We were going to reinstall the service pack just to try SOMETHING. I've been unable to find any documentation on this either. So if anyone...

Can I keep a connection persistent when logged off?

Think I might have figured it out. You can use stuff from the resource kit (sc.exe and srvany.exe) to make any service from any windows exe. Can I keep a connection persistent when logged off?

It takes over 2 minutes (it's been timed) from the time you double click on the pstools.exe until the...

    Dr Watson Exception Error Excel.exe

Yes, they are running Office 97 w/ SP2. I've read on Microsofts website that Excel uses it's own "virtual memory" regardless of how much RAM you have or what your pagefile size is. I think that may be the cause of it.

    Dr Watson Exception Error Excel.exe

I have users who also experience this. The workbook has 21 sheets at the bottom, each page has three pie charts (black and white). The user was trying to highlight the text next one of the pieces of the pie chart to change it to bold. They then received this error, rebooted, received it...
