Greetings, new to GoLive, attracted by reports of its QT goodness, so I picked up the latest version. But, where’s all the QT stuff? Did they delete it? The menus are all different from CS2, judging by the tutorials I’ve seen for that version...

Thanks for the questions...but, it's just me here on this machine, and this has happened simply from saving and opening files during a single session in Illustrator, no printing, and I don't have Acrobat, only the reader...it's definitely better since I started NOT saving a pdf-compatible .ai...

I save a file in IL 10 (on a Mac) as an Illustrator doc, then close it. When I reopen it, it's turned into a pdf file, and it's been screwed up, so the document setup is "Custom," not as saved, and some elements of the page have been shifted out of...
I'll bet you need to have Acrobat (full version) to do that...
My understanding is that all you're doing by saving to pdf in Illustrator is taking a snapshot of the file; you need Acrobat to give elements in the pdf document different properties.
