Try to turn on auditing.. Is auditing of logon/logoff events is turned on, events will be written in the eventlog. The message in the eventlog consists of a username and a computername. If the server only has remote logons through terminal server, then this will be a solution. This doesn't work...

Yuo should definitely turn on auditing. You know how, i assume. What you als can do is simply secure files and exclude them from possible deletion, by simply setting the security settings.
I was having the same troubles to. I also wasn't able to determine to cause of this error.
Then finaly, after i removed Veritas Backup Exec 9.0 and rebooted the errorlog was looking empty as it was before.. No more MRXsmb! Problem solved.
