Delete a file outside the database thru a macro

I am looking for this same answer. How does one run that VBA code from a macro? I am using OutputTo commands from a macro. If called from the Switchboard Manager (Menu) it does not ask to replace the file, just does, but if called from anything else, it asks to replace the existing file. I...

Change Field selected based on user input

I have a file with one record for each month and 31 fields representing each day. I want to display a field based on the user selecting a day. How do I change the field name in the query based on the day inputted in a form? [LOG_READING_21] represents Day 21. A nested IF is too long. Or how do...

The Decimal field's precision is too small...

I am also having the same problem after upgrading to AcuODBC 6.01. Previously if there was "invalid" data in a numeric field it would default to zero. Now it gives me an #Error and return this message. This is a major problem because our vendor has files with multiple record layouts in them...

Default Printer Changes to USB printer

Thanks for the info. I reset the default printer everytime I log in. I deleted the printer and re-added. I was not allowed to delete the USB port, even as administrator. I finally deleted the printer totally. I will keep trying.

Default Printer Changes to USB printer

I know this has been asked but I haven't seen a good answer. I have two PCs with the same problem, Win98 and WinXP. I have a parallel printer installed on each that I want as the default printer. On the Win98 PC I installed another printer using the USB port. That printer is disconnected but...

When I do a reply to an e-mail with an attachment, Outlook used to leave a trail that there had been an attachment <<attachment>>, but not send the attachment. Now there isn't any indicator that an attachment came with an e-mail, and I lose the name of the attachment. Is there a setting I am...

Displaying a Crosstab query on a Report

I see this is an older post, but I am having the same problem with trying to put a crosstab query into a report. You say set the Columnheadings Property, but what if you don't know what values are going to be displayed? The columns depend on selection criteria in a query that is run to select...

Fixed length text in csv files

Thank you for this helpful hint. Sometimes the people you export files to don't want to change! I had to go further and make sure the decimal places were preserved. allows a save of a fixed length comma delimited file G: Format([GAL],"0.000") GALLONS: Left(&quot...

Access Query Export to text loses decimal formatting

Thank you for your help, it did work. I had trouble changing the export specs because when I export manually it gives me the too few parameters mesg, but when I export by macro it works. But I finally was able to fool it and get to the specs.

Access Query Export to text loses decimal formatting

I am exporting a query to a comma delimited text file, but I need to keep the decimal places. I have the field in the query defined as fixed 2 decimal places. I can't change the table because it is a linked table. When I export it does not keep the right most zeros. (40.00 = 40) The query...
