I have several Win2K SBS servers running at my clients sites. I had one lose power and the UPS shutdown the server like it was supposed to do. But, it did it after 10 minutes. I know the UPS can last at least 30 minutes, so I terminal served into the server to change it, but when I went to...
NT keeps all of this type of stuff in profiles. When someone else logs in, it creates/changes to their profile. You could actually do one identity under each profile and they would all be kept under each ones profile. A+ MCP

Does the drive have a standalone setting? It should have been that way out of the box. Try putting the jumpers back to the way they were orginally. A+ MCP

Found this on Novell's web site. Don't think it is your problem though.

Nothing wrong with anyone still running NT4 on a medium sized network. I still have many customers running NT4 with out any problems. The biggest thing(IMO) on going to 2K servers, is when you start doing somethings that are only availible with 2K. If not, then no reason to change from NT4. A+...
raygg,
not sure about the database tables(not the programmer here), there are about 10 concurrent users on at a time.
the software company finally got on the ball and we restored a good copy of the database from about a month ago, reinstalled the software(fyi, it contains about 300 dbase...
win89 and a couple of win95 workstations. Are you asking how they are shutting down the OS or the app? As far as the app, the app will only let them shut it down gracefully, unless it hangs and they have to do a <ctrl>+<alt>+<del> to kill it.
I did find a web page talkin about win95 and the...
I have been running Win2kPro for about 9 months and I can run almost every game that I ran on Win98SE. Check the software companies web site to see if the games you are going to be playing are compatible with Win2KPro. Also, you can check out this web site, it has tons of apps, hardware, and...
We have moved it to another server and within 24 hrs, it was corrupt again. I guess the next step would be to replace the NICS in all the workstations. Only 10 workstations local that access it all at once. A+ MCP

For the last month, I have a client running a piece of software that is using dbase dbf's as the databases. What is happening is the transaction database is getting a corrupt header. Apparently the database is supposed to keep up with all transactions made with the application. The database can...
If this is what I think it is doing, then it is as easy as pie. If it is a dos box that dosen't close(even after no errors in the login script), with the window that won't close highlighted hit <ALT>+<SPACE>, and select Properties. It might be under "Edit". Not sure since I am not in...
I will keep it short as I have bashed AMD enough til I am blue in my face. Seen too many bad things happen with AMD chips. As far as price, I was comparing a 1.4ghz Intel and AMD. Found I could buy the AMD chip for 20 dollars less than Intel. The motherboard was about 20 dollars less than Intel...
