Used the MaxBlast software which worked a treat but really shouldn't have had to download the software as i bought a 120gig maxtor and that was picked up straight away by xp as a 120. nm. Thanks for all the info guys. Until next time . . .

Thanks for replying so quickly guys. Drive didn't come with any software and can't access the internet for a while. Also i forgot mention that i am using XP SP1a but did format the hdd as NTFS so guess i'll have to wait until i can get back onto the net to download the maxtor file. Thanks...
