Hi everybody!
Does anyone please give me any further information about restoring windows shared folders. I thought the sharde info was stored in the registry, but after restoring some groups and users folders I noticed that the shared groups folders were restored with the security and sharing...
I knew the shared info was stored in the registry (LanMan service?) but I have checked that VERITAS Netbackup restore the share info from shared folders backups without restoring the registry, (NBU doesn´t restore the share info from the hidden shares, but it does from the normal ones). I...
Hi everybody. I need help.
I have to backup and restore many shared users folders, as I have to reinstall the File Server. It´s backed-up through RAWS from a BE9.1SP1 Media Server. I know the security info will remain when restored, but... what about the sharing info? Does BE 9.1 restore it? Is...
Hi all.
Have you installed SP1?
It´s not the same issue, but some kind of: the 9.1 (4691) has a bug which is fixed by the HotFix3 (or SP1). It shows the retention period incorrectly for some media. Just have a look of the issues solved by SP1...just try.
Yes, multistreaming is allowed. I´ve activated logging for tonight backup, but I´m thinking this is just a syntx problem. I was assuming (according to the product documentation), that "...You can use either Microsoft Windows conventions or UNIX file-path conventions,
whichever you are the...
Bad news (at least for me..)
I tested last night creating a new policy for the 150 Gb folder, enabling multistreaming, and creating three streams, so, in the files tab:
NEW_STREAM
E:\Lotus\Domino\Data\mail\[a-j]*
NEW_STREAM
E:\Lotus\Domino\Data\mail\[k-t]*
NEW_STREAM...
I´m sorry, but unfortunately this is not an option. (Not at this moment, believe me, this is a "pending request" for me...)
Full backup of every server everyday.
Unfortunately not.
The bussiness say, I do.
I´m trying to introduce a change in some minds, but, you know... Full is easier/faster to recover? Lets full. Don´t care about money/administration/operation...
I would like not to do fulls, but...
I understand what you say, Auto-discover multistreaming, isn´t? but...
I don´t have any "Use multiple drives" box to check in the Attributes Tab.
And..where do you change the streams in the schedule?
I´m missing something, I think...
If I check "Allow multiple data...
Wait!
Probably because I haven´t checked the "Allow multiple data streams" box in the Attributes Tab?
¿¿!!??!!
I´m sorry... and always learning...
Thanks anyway, guys.
Hi guys! One thing about what comtec17 said (sorry about my lack of experience):
"You can put a single filesystem to multiple drives by using the ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES directive. Each filesystem will use a drive".
I have one policy with the SYSTEM_STATE and ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES directives...
Thanks, comctec17. I´m going to test it.
So, for W2003 clients, there is NOT any other way to use more than one drive in the same policy?
If this is correct, I have a new problem right now.
I have to backup six W2003 clients every night. This number is increasing as we are migrating server...
Hi all, and thanks in advance.
Please, does anyone know how exactly VSP and the background service Snapshot Manager work with W2003?
I explain:
NBU 4.5 FP5, Master Solaris, Media Solaris, clients Solaris & W2003. Two SUN L60 libraries.
Client W2003 on a SAN, three drives, C and D local...
Thanks for such a quick reply, comtec17.
I have two SUN l60 libraries, six DLT8000 each one, both are configured as follows:
Max Concurrent Drives=6, on demand, Max Fragment Size=unlimited, Max MPX=1.
W2003 server is on the SAN, any clue?
Tell me if need more info, I´m working till late...
Hi all, and thanks in advance.
Scenario:
NBU 4.5 FP5
1 Master/Media Server, Solaris.
1 Media Server, Solaris.
25 Solaris clients.
25 Windows 2003 clients.
SAN environment for some Solaris/Windows clients.
Devices: both are SUN L60, so I have twelve DLT8000 drives.
I´m trying to backup one...
Hello all.
I´m intending to install BEWS 9.0 in a new environment, with almost 20 server geographically distributed. We have been probing BEWS9.0, agents, options, IDR, and the decision is to install it. Now I´ve noticed about the new version, 9.1.
Does anyone know if there has been many changes...
Thanks, comtec17.
Does it mean that I should perform an IDR for the system and then restore manually the databases? I´m used to the Backup Exec IDR which complete the IDR including the SQL databases or Domino databases all together without problems, and I think the IDR option is actually the...
Hi everyone and thanks in advance.
When creating a W2000 policy (NBU 4.5 FP5), I have the choice to add the System State in the files to backup. If the client is a W2003, I should add the Shadow Copy Components, shouldn´t I? But this choice is not available. Any clue?
Thanks again.
Hi everyone and thanks in advance.
Does anyone knows the best way -or the recommended one- to perform a full backup of a W2K3 server running SQL, which allows me to complete a IDR with a consistent SQL restore. I use NBU 4.5 FP5 with SQL agent, IDR option, VSP, etc. I have the same question in...
Hi everyone and thanks in advance.
Does anyone knows if there is any compatibility issue between HDS SAN 9960/9970 and Windows 2003?
This OS is not officially supported in the 9900Vseries specs.(http://www.hds.com/products/systems/9900/specs/op_system_support.html)
Any information about that...
