Hi everybody. I need help.
I have to backup and restore many shared users folders, as I have to reinstall the File Server. It´s backed-up through RAWS from a BE9.1SP1 Media Server. I know the security info will remain when restored, but... what about the sharing info? Does BE 9.1 restore it? Is there any way to get it? Thanks a lot in advance.

Share will have to be recreated along with permissions. That information is stored in the registry or system state on the server your restoring to. Unless you restore the system state along with it.

I knew the shared info was stored in the registry (LanMan service?) but I have checked that VERITAS Netbackup restore the share info from shared folders backups without restoring the registry, (NBU doesn´t restore the share info from the hidden shares, but it does from the normal ones). I supposed BEWS would restore at least the normal shared folders, as NBU does... By the way, why does NBU restore this info without restoring the registry? (I´m going to ask further about this in the NBU forum).
