Hi everyone and thanks in advance.
Does anyone knows the best way -or the recommended one- to perform a full backup of a W2K3 server running SQL, which allows me to complete a IDR with a consistent SQL restore. I use NBU 4.5 FP5 with SQL agent, IDR option, VSP, etc. I have the same question in the Lotus Domino server, with the Lotus Notes agent installed. Should I perform one job for the System and other for the Databases?

You should have 1 policy for the database information and 1 policy for the system drives. Make sure you exclude the database path for the system backup.

Thanks, comtec17.
Does it mean that I should perform an IDR for the system and then restore manually the databases? I´m used to the Backup Exec IDR which complete the IDR including the SQL databases or Domino databases all together without problems, and I think the IDR option is actually the same for NBU, isn´t it? Thats why I was trying to backup everything in the same job. If I need to create two jobs, how should I schedule them? At the time of restoring, could I choose any of the system backups and merge it with any of the DB backups? Is not going to be any consistency issue between logs, DB, events, registry, etc..?
Thanks again.

As long as you are using the SQL and Lotus notes agents you will have no problem laying the database back down.
