Looking for some verification. My vendor is trying to tell me that my signaling server patches were deactivated. The reason being the signaling server above it fell on top of it and knock out the power cord out, which then deactivated the patches that were in the signaling server.
Does the...
I am about to move a 1000 people to a new building my company is in the process of building. All the users exist in OTM today and would like to transfer that database into the new TM that is on order. Does anyone know of a way to do this? I guess I could try it with a procom script but I...
Any feature that doesn't require another server to add on...Look if you think you need to go Cisco to do VoIP then you need to go back to school. It's not cheaper, better and faster. The problem is you got all these guys fresh out of CCNA boot camp who know little to nothing about telecom...
Unless the customer has to have a certain function of a reader board, we tell our customers to go buy a $1000 LCD or Plasma and use an old PC that can do IE and use the web client to display stats.
Sounds like you have an issue with the Sig Server or the PBX.
I have never had an issue with replacing an IP phone and getting that error. I will try tomorrow and see if I can duplicate it.

There is nothing that you need to do that requires a de-registration. This is not a procedure that needs to be done to remove a phone off the network.
The signaling server uses the passwords from the PBX. So you will have to build it in LD 17 and then do a data dump to get it to sync with the signaling server.

If its not power then you are having data connectivity issues.
You can take a phone power...
Sorry one more thing...the best part about it is that we didn't need to change out any phones to get this up and running. It works with digital, analog and IP phones.
I have both LCS and MCS in my office and I don't know how I lived without it. LCS is easier to install but MSC has a couple more features that I like that LCS doesn't have yet. There is a lot of RnD going on with Nortel and MS. So I would expect to see those features soon in LCS.
The * symbol is considered part of the dialing plan of the PBX. So in order to pick up the handset and dial anything outside the PBX you would have to dial a 9 (in most cases). Then it would have to be allowed in NARS and BARS for that NCOS.
madwork,
SIP doesn't have a standard, it's not because Nortel hasn't fully implemented it. So therefore SIP is different for every vendor at the moment. SIP trunking works fine with Nortel to Nortel but as soon as you bring in another vendor that doesn't use the same SIP code as Nortel you...
