the problem is i can't boot up my windows anymore i get an unmountable boot volume error.
how can i see the service pack that is installed on the machine (it isn't mine and i can't boot xp)
i 've tried the chkdsk /r option but without a result
the problem is that the normal chkdsk has now option /p only in the recovery console.
I have a floppy drive in the laptop
can i start d:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons when i have booted from a floppy ?
the data is standing on a ntfs partition
I have a laptop with a faulty xp, I found out that i maybe can fix it by running chkdsk /p in the recovery console.
but if i start the laptop with the system cd it stops before i can get in the recovery cd.
is there an other way to get in the recovery console ?
the icoon of my command.pif and msdos.pif is change to default (unassigned icoon) maybe this rings a bell for somebody
i replaced the command.com with a command.com from a working pc but without result.
for the hd space and the swap file i'll have to look.
but it has 192 mb ram and is running office 2000 fine i only get this error if I try to use command.com
I have a windows 98 machine in my network until yesterday it ran just fine
but today when i try to logon (with a user with logon script for drive mapping) I get the an out of memory message.
I did an virus and spyware scan but the system is clean.
the bizar thing is I can run outlook , word etc...
I've created some distribution lists beceause I'm sending al lot of the same mails to different contacts.
but with some lists I get the message
No transport provider was available for delivery to this recipient
and then all the names of the contacts from a distribution list.
A colleage told...
