Thank you for your responses, I will post the config of each router. A DCE-DTE cable is being used and the clock is set on the DCE side(1720).
I have managed to ping the serial port on the router the PC is connected to but, cannot ping across the WAN to the 1603.
Thanks again
Martin
I have connected a 1603 and a 1720 router by means of a DTE-DCE serial cable. I have also configured the IP address on the Ethernet and Serial port on both routers.

Hi all,
I am running my own mail server using Exchange 2000, Yesterday the server started automatically sending hundreds of emails. This obviously appears to be Virus/Worm behaviour but Norton 2003 and numerous free online scans have shown no infection.
I have had to shut down my mail server to...
Thank you for your help, I have fixed the problem of sending mail internally, and am now trying to figure out setting up a smarthost to get mail out through my ISP, and the problem of not receiving mail.
Thanks again
Martin
Hi
NO-IP specifically lists their service to enable users to run their own mail server, using the IP udater program. NO-IP receive my mail first, and their servers run with multiple redundancy, and they forward my mail on to me via my MX record which can be set from within their host section...
Thanks for the reply. I am running a program called NO-IP DUC, this monitors my static IP (I am on cable so it does not change frequently) each time I am given a different IP this program updates my DNS record, so it is like having a fixed IP.

HI
The win98 machine is getting a correct IP address from the server and the gateway IP has been set. When I Check IPCONFIG the correct IP is shown but there is no IP logged against the Gateway IP even though it shows up as set under the Windows Network IP settings.
Thanks for the reply. I have not enabled ICS on either Win98 Machine as I thought you only did this if the modem was attatched to the win98 PC, and all other PC's linked to the internet though it..
