Thanks for the confirmation. Digging around a lot more on www.macromedia.com I found that communication server was probably the way to go for real time 2 way traffic. are you talking about the color of the stage? Like the background of the movie as a whole? If so, I don't know of a way to do it, but you could achieve the same result by adding a layer under everything else. Put a white rectangle bigger than the stage on it.
