The analog are either phones or ringers. There are 2 places we have bells on the analog lines (Storerooms). The other places are where we use a phone that is harder for them to damage (no display). Sounds like either run new copper or move a cabinet....
We currently have a CS1000 consisting of 3 cabinets serving 4 buildings. The connections to other buildings are via 2 overhead cables - 1 100pr and 1 50 pr. The third building is served with a 25 pair from the building served by the 100 pr. Is there a way to convert these exterior runs to...
That's a possibility, but we're not that big of a user anyway so the block of numbers is no big deal. Also, many of our users have issues with change - the ones that are causing this problem are repeat offenders after being told 5-10 times! They can't even type their password in right on the...
We have an issue that has recently crept up. Not sure why all the sudden, but it did. Our Paging Access code is 8 and zone 0 is the "page all" zone. We have an issue that our cell phone numbers are all 807-83xx. Is there a way to intercept calls to the paging system if it is dialed beyond the...
I ran across it when playing with the door intercom I was trying to set up. I now have a different door intercom made by Viking that will disconnect on a return to dialtone...so if I can enable that, my problems will be solved.
I remember seeing an option that caused an analog station port to return to dialtone when the far end hung up. Can anyone tell me what that was - I think it was a CLS setting, but can't remember for the life of me which one. Thanks.
This morning one of our Norstar systems displayed the following on the main set: "68-155326, time: 18:50, 12/31/07" What does this mean? I'm quite familiar with Meridian Option systems, but not so familiar with Norstars...Thanks.

Working on setting up as a trunk port - I see a problem though. The door phone (intercom) is powered by the phone line. Does the trunk port supply the power like the analog card will? I don't seem to be getting any power to the intercom. Can I apply power with the trunk port somehow?
John,
If I make this a trunk instead - can I still dial TO the intercom. as a station, I can dial the dn to initiate the call from a phone inside the building. Ultimately I will have 3 or 4 of these, running to 3 different destinations. Can you point me in the right direction to set up...
John,
I just want the door phone to cut out when the station it dials hangs up. The internal timer in the door phone cuts off at the end of the timer. I want to use the option built in that detects a 300ms or longer drop of loop current. Will the analog card not do this? I am running a...
I recently purchased a Bogen ADP1 Door Phone. I have a slight issue with the way it works. There is a timer that will disable after a selectable delay of 15 sec to 2 min. The problem is the line is hung up after that duration no matter if the call is finished or not. With the timer disabled...
I'm using a standard Lantronix RS232 Serial Server. It's an older unit which has been replaced by newer versions. I have a 2 port serial version which I connect using a telnet session on port 10001 for port 1 and 10002 for port 2. Port 2 connects to the MIRAN TTY.
The site in question does NOT have PRI or DID. The site is small enough that there is no cost savings in moving to PRI, so we didn't. The user has an extension from the main number. Sounds like this is not going to be possible?
Is forwarding to an external number possible on a NORSTAR? We recently upgraded to 7.0 and a user wants to forward to a 2nd location when they are away from their desk. If it is possible, how do I do this?
My Station to Station calls are not going to the CDR output. Incoming and Outgoing are reporting fine. Is there a setting I have to set somewhere to enable station to station calls to output on the CDR? Thanks.
I have an additional question. When I have the USER for my TTY set to CTY only, I get garbage on the screen. If I add SCH, I get the CDR records as I expected, but I also get information echoed from my maintenance TTY. Is there some special serial port settings needed if it's just CTY?

So all I need is fax licenses and then it will let me dedicate those channels and then I just need to set up the FAX DIDs to point to callpilot for faxing?
We just put in a new phone system, including CallPilot 4.0. We were given 20 seats of desktop messaging as part of a recent Nortel promotion. I was wondering what would be needed to set up faxing. We have 24 voice channels. I found in the CallPilot Administrator where you designate channels...
