This could be disatrous in terms of data integrity, if there is some other table dependent on being updated when this table is updated. What you did is a very bad practice and extremely dangerous."
Thanks for the tip. I won't do what I planned until I investigate further.

Thanks to all,
I fixed my problem by doing this:
alter table purc_order_line disable trigger UPDATE_PURC_ORDER_LINE
update purc_order_line set user_8 = 'N' where user_8 = 'Y'
alter table purc_order_line enable trigger UPDATE_PURC_ORDER_LINE
Ken
Thanks for the response.
If I delete the trigger named update_purc_order_line I can successfully execute the statement update PURC_ORDER_LINE set USER_8 = 'N' where USER_8 = 'Y' in Query Analyzer. Of course, I can't do this with our production database!
Ken
We use Visual MFG v6.2.8 on a Microsoft SQL Server. There is a table named purc_order_line that has a trigger defined as update_purc_order_line. When I try to run an update script on the table I get the error: Server: Msg 50000, Level 16, State 1, Procedure UPDATE_PURC_ORDER_LINE, Line 182...
I agree with teckystuff's opinion but the tech I am dealing with at Shavlik insists this check box be un-checked. Anyway, the former user of the computer exhibiting this behaviour had a bunch of junk installed. After removing it all, the check box will now remain un-checked.
Thanks for the replys!
I have one computer on my domain that will not let me permanently remove the check in the box for "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)". I can un-check it but when I log back in as that same power user, the box is checked again. If I log in with administrative rights, the box will remain...
I have since uninstalled WSUS and am looking for a different solution. Thanks for the post coco10.
Does anyone use a third party solution to push out Microsoft critical updates automatically?
After installing WSUS, I can click on the Computers link and several of my computers show the blue info icon next to them and they display "This computer has not reported status in X or more days."
The X = how many days and is not the same for all computers.
Does anyone know how to fix this...
First of all, thanks for all the positive feedback.
Now, if I prevent all internet access, this would also prevent the clients from getting their Norton Antivirus updates too, right? Then I have to think about all the Microsoft security patches and critical updates. I know I can download those...
The boss wants me to prevent web browsing to all employees except those who he trusts.
The problem is, with Windows XP Pro, anyone can browse web pages by putting in a web address in Windows Explorer or Outlook's Outlook Today address bar.
Has anyone found a way to prevent this action?
Am I...
The boss wants to log web browsing. I need a simple, cheap hardware or software solution that will just log the web sites visited.
We have a T1 connection with a Siemens se5940 router, three W2K servers, one domain, 54 clients, use DHCP with private IP addresses and an HP ProCurve 4000 switch...
Hi Peter,
Did you ever figure this out? I want to at least have the computer ask for conformation (just like if you right-clicked on a folder/file) before moving to prevent un-wanted folder/file moves.
I have a Win XP Pro box on my Win 2K server network. We have one domain. When I log in as Administrator on the Win XP Pro box it is very fast. When I log in as any other user it pauses for quite some time at the "Applying your personal settings" box.
Any suggestions?
On my Windows 2000 Server, even tho I am logged in as Administrator, I get the message "Add/Remove Programs has been restricted." when I double click on the Add/Remove Programs icon in the control panel.
How do I fix this?
Thanks for the help!
