Hi, I was wondering if I can turn off drag n drop on our shared drives with Windows 2000 Server? (to stop users from accidently moving files).

Thank-you,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Did you ever figure this out? I want to at least have the computer ask for conformation (just like if you right-clicked on a folder/file) before moving to prevent un-wanted folder/file moves.

Neat, thanks for the link, I'll try that out next week. I did ask a few people but hadn't received any help. Just told, no you can't do that from Windows 2000 Server.

I don't want to restrict copying/pasting, just stop accidental dragging/dropping.

Peter

That works great, thanks Spool. The only thing I would add is for STEP 10. I have to choose "Local Intranet". I do not have an option for My Computer.

Users are now prompted whenever they try to drag a file on the network to a different folder or drive. The warning appears if you copy a file as well, but thats okay.
