there are tons of free and shareware software. I think you can even use jetadmin to scan a mac address as I recall.
but here is one that should help.

This has probably been bitten to death but still would like to find out perhaps there are better ways to do it. I need to move about 40gigs of data from one server to another. They are both DCs and would like to get the permissision with. I used robocopy in the past. Could I use replication...
Is there any way I could connect to a windows2000 workstation using RDP? I know it works on server and XP but I need to connect to a 2000 workstation. I rather not use any other 3rd party software if not necessary. Don't have licenses for PCAnywhere and VNC is open source (nothing wrong but I...
Greatly appreciate if anyone could spare some knowledge.
I have a 2003 DC and a member server about 150 miles way over a DSL connection. There are about 20 users on each site. The one with the AD only doesn't seem to work well mainly because the authentication issues and sometime the pips is...
Motoslide,
Thanks for your reply. Altough I have a few unix boxes, I hardly touch them because the vendor are managing them. However, I'd like to get more into. For the starter I need to find out how to share a folder. Any chance you can point me (or explain how the sharing is done in unix)...
Algouth I haven't done it with QB, I've done it with Winesellerpro. I have no doubt that it will work. Get a good (you haven't said which version of micros), script programmer. It shouldn't be hard. Most micros data files are text and very easy to import/export.
I would greatly appreciated if anyone could point me in the right direction. How to share a folder for Windows users?
Is there a UNIX client to get to that share folder without installing Samba?
Thank you.
Does Microsoft or any other websites can provided locations and facilities where these test are offered?
I figured that might not be possible online. I am about 150 miles from the nearest larger city.
Thanks for everyone's help.
This off topic but perhaps someone can point me in the right direction. I would like to take my MSCE test but need to find a place that offers the test online.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I can't agree more. RMC is a nightmare. Very unreliable. by that I mean you would make changes, everything will work fine, next day out of the blue the changes you made are gone. Most of the menu items changes, you have to cycle in and out of the menu to get the correct reading. So far i have...
Got 8 catalyst 2950s and for some odd reson I can see every one of them on the topoloty list but nothing shows on the available members on the cluster menu.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
I found what I was looking for. however, since my post I have upgraded to 9700 which honest, it is an inferior product and has given me much more headeck to deal with then 8700.
The training I found would be at this link

Perhaps you can...
Perhaps these questions have been asked before and I appologies.
I have been using win2000 backup with a Dell external backup drive and DLT4 tapes successfully. I have moved to Veritas to be able to backup exchange mailboxes. Since then only new tapes works.
Is there any way I could...
I would check the obvious first as oisnds mentioned. Once I installed a backup HP dat drive. The stupind thing changed to boot order when I upgraded the firmware. It is not fun to see that message on a production Exchange box with hundres of mailboxes. Sure enough checking the boot.ini...
This is a comune mistake and I am pretty sure you are on a domain. Admin group account from a domain will not let you install or modify a printer on a local workstation. The account must be part of the local admin group as well.
I've never done that by I do servers and workstation all the time using the Server manager. I must assume this would be a way to remove an unwanted domain as well.
I'd like to know myself.
