Mike,
My server doesn't currently send NDRs for spam, and I'm actually running SpamBayes at the client to handle spam processing. I know that this isn't the ideal solution, but I've inherited the server and am not sure how to quell the tide of junk on Exchange 2000. There are approx. 50 users...
Hello,
Hoping somebody here can help me investigate an issue with my Exchange 2000 server. I am currently experiencing a delay of over an hour on our single mail server, with messages building up in both the pre-submission and messages waiting to be routed queues.
At this time, the delay has...
xmsre,
Awesome post - I knew this setup was going to be a problem when my former manager was telling me that 60gb mirrored drives without mailbox size limits was going to be sufficient. Of course, he took off before the e-mail could hit the fan.
Your post is very valuable though for pointing...
Once my users have deleted a large amount of their mail that is no longer necessary, and the defrag goes through, a storage limit policy is going into effect.
Thanks though!
Final update: Cancelled defrag, moved public folder store to another drive. Brought both stores back up, and Mailbox store began increasing in size at a decreasing rate. I will be monitoring the filesize increase, and running the offline defrag after hours.
Good to have this forum around...
Update: Cancelled the backup since one was run on Friday afternoon, began offline defragmentation after removing unused mailboxes to free up ~1gb of space. Once the defrag is done, I am going to have users purge as much deleted items/junk mail as possible, and am instating a policy of...
Hello,
I've inherited an IT setup with an MS Exchange 2000 server, and came into a full hard drive where the EDB/STM files are stored. Apparently, there must have been some processes I should have been running because my priv edb is 31gb while the stm is 15gb. The hard drive has about 180k...
They could not see any certain channel disconnecting inappropriately during the day, and the intrusive testing had to be done after hours. This is a full T, of which 12 channels are being utilized by the 9 pool. The other half is for our incoming 800 number, which doesn't seem to be having any...
Well, it's still possible that it could be the processor itself, but replacing the DS1 card is the cheapest attempt at getting the system going again. I have had intrusive testing done to make sure the T is clean to the CSU, and there are no errors related to the issue arising on the CSU either...
Hello,
I have determined that one of the ports on my DS1 card has gone bad, and am awaiting a replacement card that has just been purchased. My only concern however is that I have been administering the system, but was not involved in the initial setup/programming when it was first installed...
Looks like it's either a bad line coming into, or a bad port on my 100D blade. Before I put a call out to the provider, is there any way I can troubleshoot to determine which is the problem? It'd be easy with the real lines that are coming into the 408 blades, but I'm at a loss with T1 stuff...
Hello,
I'm currently running Merlin Legend 6.1 v11, and am having an odd problem when users dial 9 to get an outside line. It seems that randomly, after dialing 9 + phone number, the system will wait a few seconds before cutting off the line they are using. The line button on the phone will go...
Hello, a couple of Outlook 2000 problems here..
First off, two of my users are receiving e-mails up to a day after they were originally sent. When the e-mails come in, they are still timestamped with the date/time they were sent, as opposed to when they are actually received. I have run SR-1a...
At least in Visio 2003, you can right click the wall and select 'Add Dimension'. The dimension comes up with a bracket signifying where the dimension lies.
Hello,
I've got an issue where a portion of our company is being separated into its own entity, and it's related to music-on-hold. From what I've read from the existing threads, there is only system-wide MOH on this system. However, is there a way to remove a certain calling group from the...
Nevermind, I was right about the double-sided foam tape. Replacements are in and work fine.
To anyone with this problem, I carefully pried the corner of each battery until the sticky tape "popped". Just be careful, as you most certainly do not want to pierce one of these batteries while working...
Hello,
I recently purchased a Tempest battery replacement pack for my SmartUPS 1500 rackmount UPS, comes with 4 identical batteries to place in the module and get the system back up.
I'm used to our Symmetra system where the modules are to be replaced entirely, so I'm not very familiar with...
I should mention that I am working on this project with the assumption that the company may grow to 5 users in the near future. Please take that into consideration when replying.
Thanks!
Hello,
I currently have 2 phone lines coming into my Merlin phone system that are setup in a pool for one of our subcompanies to use (3 employees). As we are in the process of separating this company from ourselves, I have been asked to come up with a solution for pulling these lines from our...
