    PL/SQL - conditional Cursor loop?

I'm not sure why the cursor selects are relevant here. They both output 4 columns of data types varchar2, number, number, number. I ensured that both outputs are identical so that I could pass them to a common record rowtype if required.

    PL/SQL - conditional Cursor loop?

I'm fairly new to PL/SQL so please bear with my descriptions and terminology! I have a procedure where I'm trying to process a choice of 2 cursor depending on an input parameter. So, I have 2 cursors, cA and cB (both of which output the same number of columns and types, cA returns a single...

    (Un)Qualified People

I actually DO have to request emails for every change request because my memory IS so bad!! A quick drag and drop into tasks and its all sorted. I would have had problems like yours many times over were I not so naturally stupid.......

Use table from other DB in query

Thanks, I've just found the database links in our complete reference guide! Its always difficult when you know what you need to do but don't know the name of it!! :-)

Use table from other DB in query

Hi, I know this is possible, but I've never had to do it before or come across it so I'm not sure of the correct terminology for it. We have 2 databases, Live and Query, which are identical, although Query is a full backup of Live every night so 1 day behind. All of our 'extra' ref tables and...

    Unlock Record

How do you go about unlocking a record in 8i? I can't do the update either thru the application or via select for update or by row_id. Is it possible to find out which session/user has the record locked? I'm a bit green to all this so please be gentle!! :-) Thanks

    HD showing unallocated but full

Actually I am, which is why I've not taken your advice. What disturbs me is that you offer this advice without understanding the technical ability of the poster and could potentially lead someone to reformat unnecessarily. I was asking for some specific input as i'd exhausted all of the other...

    HD showing unallocated but full

Funnily enough, this HD 'was' the backup drive until it got filled up with other stuff. As i said, it would be an inconvenience but not a tragedy if it went, but if i can sort it before giving up then that would be desirable. :-) I work on Oracle so i understand about good backups (a case of...

    HD showing unallocated but full

The solution is simple, i need to get the files back. There seem to be 2 options: 1. Fix the file structure. Disk back to normal. 2. Recover the files to another disk. Reformat the original and move files back. So you're suggesting just reformatting and starting again to save some time...

    HD showing unallocated but full

My PC works fine apart from the fact that i can't see the 2 drives (2 partitions on a single 160gb disk) in My Computer and thus can't do anything within Windows to fix it. I can't do a chkdsk because the drive doesn't get assigned a drive letter because it doesn't exist as such. The only way...

    HD showing unallocated but full

Ok, should've stated this - have stripped the PC back to Primary boot disk and then added this secondary drive in all other available locations (Primary slave, Secondary master and slave) using known good 80pin cables with all possible combinations of master, slave and CS jumpers. The problem...

    HD showing unallocated but full

I've got a Seagate Barracuda 160gb which has 2 partitions on it, both of which are nearly full. The drive shows in bios and in Windows Disk Management and Seagate Discwizard but not in My Computer. WinXP Disk Management reports the space as unallocated so i'm assuming the file structure is...

    Excel - Group Conditional formatting

Yes, but the FAQ only explains how to highlight fixed numbers of rows, not ones that change dynamically. as i said in my first post, i found a solution that was close but not quite.

    Excel - Group Conditional formatting

Ok, i used this formula and it highlighted every row. =MOD(ROUNDUP(SUM(1/COUNTIF ($A$2:$A$132,$A$2:$A$132)),0),2)=1 I then added another of =MOD(ROUNDUP(SUM(1/COUNTIF($A$2:$A$132,$A$2:$A$132)),0),2)=0 and it changed every row to the colour i've set for this. Neither seemed to be selecting...

    Excel - Group Conditional formatting

Excuse my ignorance but how do i go about applying that? Do i highlight all the rows then Format-->Cond format-->Formula is etc? That just seems to kill it. BTW, when i refer to groups, these are not Excel groups, the data is just sorted so that the ID's follow consecutively, resulting in...

    Excel - Group Conditional formatting

I found a solution that will highlight the first row of each group when the value changes but what i'd like to do is be able to highlight each group of rows with alternating colours where the group sizes are dynamic. e.g. We have groups identified by a unique ID and are typically clustered in...
