I was wondering what the maximum length of a textfile is if you want to read it into Delphi.
I'm asking this because I want to be able to read in text file that are as large as 600 Mb...

Do you have enough permission to write to the directory?
Are you sure you've all the names right? And be sure to remove the Return between 'opened' and te '"' in you're print...
Probably something went wrong when you ipdated you're BIOS, most motherboards have an options by shortcutting a jumper to restore you're 'old' BIOS, check you're manual or let me now what kind of motherboard you have...

I'm not totally sure why it wont work after deletion, however you could try to optimize your table after deletion with: OPTIMIZE TABLE table_nm [,table_nm2]

PHP doesn't allow you to make a directory with 777 permissions, to get
around this make the directory, then change its mode to 777.

You're problem could be in a system configuration file.
There is a file etc/rc.config, and one of the entry's in this file is:
ROOT_LOGIN_REMOTE= and then either yes or no, you should set this to yes. Now you're able to login via telnet
This should do the trick...
