In my experience ANY IP phone (Nortel, Avaya, Alcatel...etc) does not work well as a speakerphone unless you have it on a dedicated LAN, physically cabled separately from the computer traffic. You could possibly accomplish the same by VLAN on all dedicated ports, but with only 35 phones your...
Let me clarify. We just setup voicemail to email today and several users have VM messages saved in their mailbox and would like those to show up in their email as .wav files, just as any new message going forward would.
Our workaround for this solution has been to setup two old laptops running softphone. Home Location A laptop to BCM B and vice versa. Then connect the speaker output of each laptop to our standard paging system. Set each softphone up in their own paging zone ,program a speed dial button on...
I have a BCM450 with three phones in a "Ring Only" hunt group. After the caller ends the call, the "intercom" button stays lit and that phone stops receiving calls. If you go off hook and press the intercom button, the message in the display is "line in use". The only way to clear this is to...
I have an incoming PRI that rings an attendant console, if the attendant does not answer it overflows to a hunt group. The phones in the hunt group all have voicemail. So, any inbound caller may receive one of the overflow users voicemail at random. Is there a way to have the inbound call ring...
For what its worth. We were faced with this same scenario and fought it for over a month before we finally gave in and made all locations 4 digits and front ended each location with a different number. Site A = 1221 Site B = 3221 Site C=4221. This also fixed our centralized voicemail issues of...
Thankfully we did not have to replace the box. And yes, trying to get a RMA through Nortel or a stocking distributor is a pain in the ass.
The problem turns out to be with the paging amplifier the BCM was connected to. The amplifier (Valcom 2001) has a MUZAK player attached to the Music input...
Based on my documentation the Black/'Orange pair is the ONLY place you can connect the paging output on the BCM50. Without doing trunk port paging and then I lose my ability to use the park and page feature.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a command line interface into the BCM50 that might allow an individual port reset of the paging port? I assume if the page port is dead then I will have to swap the main chassis.
Thanks in advance for the replies.
That works! I will now try it with a cordless analog phone, although I will assume since it works on a standard analog phone the cordless should act the same way.
Thank You
I have been unable to pick them up, or place them, in the SWCA range using an analog phone. Unless someone knows a way to enter the "Feature" key on an analog phone. Flash *520, does not work.
I have multiple BCM's (400 & 450) setup so the first 3 virtual park spaces are appearances on all the phones (801, 802, 803). My client has introduced an analog extension in the mix and I have learned that a call parked from an analog extension starts at 825 and works it's way down. My dilemma...
We figured it out! The amplifier required two inputs from the BCM and a different dip switch configuration. We had to use the Page Relay output from teh BCM to tell the amp it was receiving a page and turn the music off, then we had to connect the page output output from the BCM into the amp for...
Here is what we have learned, so far. When the BCM450 paging port is connected to the paging amplifier, first attempt to page locks the paging port and requires the BCM450 to be rebooted to unlock.
The paging amplifier is an AIPHONE PG-100C. The manual does not indicate any specifics for the...
