i cant beleive anybody missed this; just reinstall the operating system over and everything should be fine afterwards:
sfc.exe program sucks; if it asks for xxsetup.dll or something like that, doesn't mean anything ebcause when you upgade your pc you have files which are even newer then that...
yup, i have a sitauation right now at home where my pc does the same thing; i use a labtop in exchange
-i found out that its my video card that was causing all of the instability
-need to purchase a new one then the pc will see whats up
-well theres a difference; when creating users they ask for
User Profile Path: this is the roaming profile path
Home Directory
Connect: <--this is the mapping of home drives; if it doesn't map the first time, do it physically and it will stay afterwards
-talk to your admin about logging rights and ask him if he can change it so you won't get locked out after a few unsuccessful login
*but you gotta understand the admins probably did it for a reason, they WANT YOU TO BE CAREFUL when you do ANY kind of work; just take your time
make sure HOME DIRECTORY is:
connect driverletter:/ \\whereeverylocation is
*after you go back in instead of changing the original files in there to do what you did; you could've just did roaming profile and change location for where they save data, doc, email, etc... (log in and log back in to...
-do what you did, taken ownership - if not working then go to the permissions tab and there should be on the bottom "take ownership and auditting something like that" check both of those and you will see what im talking about
-administartors dont usually corrupt files by taking over...
-my opinion; citrix cost too much, no need for it; just regular terminal services (citrix basically IS terminal services; but a more advanced feature; like an add-in)
-right click on task manager then click "task manager"
-when window pops up, go to 'options' and click "hide when minimized" then minimize it (you'll know what i'm talkign about after you've done it)
-set them all to LOCAL ADMINISTRATOR because they are only user profiles which have little access to anything
-go to control panel -> administrative tools -> computer management -> local users & groups
-in the groups -> click on administrators & click 'add'
servername/username or...
the fonts my be installed into another directory, but still works
*also if you go to word and the fonts later dont show up again; set a different printer as your default because some printers have fonts supported & fonts not
-those are options you can try; not guaranteed to work though
fonts WILL WORK, one you go to regional options and set it as whatever type it is
for example: you installed chinese fonts and you want it to work; make sure your locale location is chinese (xxx) and other menus are set as chinese; reboot pc afterwards and you'll be on your way
what kind of PC is yours?
if you have warranty for it still, call it up and do some tech support; otherwise, i have no suggestions...well what is wrong w/ your PC to start off w/?
