    But it's the slave disk that fails. It boots from the master disk. The IDE cable is connected as you described.

    Thanks for the tips, guys. I still have problems, though. I connected the new PSU but the computer won't start. The lights on the mobo goes on (from connecting the PSU) but pressing the start button does nothing. No fans, no beeps, no new lights, no nothing. Could the mobo have been damaged...

    Hi. My brother blew up my power supply box (?) and now I have to replace it. Does anyone know whether all power supplies are standardized, i.e. if I can safely connect the new one to my mobo without worrying about rearranging the tiny cords in the white plastic connector? Thankful for any advice.

    Thanks for the tips, guys. The beep code was indeed for no video card. Also, I managed to get a hold of another computer afterall and switched the cards. It seems mine was broken. Anyway, thank you for the help.
