    Replacing the case fan

Thanks Paparazi. Yes, it is not the power supply fan. Besides this is a sleave fan (found the info through google search), not the ball bearing one. I don't really know what a sleave fan is though. So, does the oil still work with a sleave fan?

    Replacing the case fan

Yes Paparazi, there is a plastic duct guiding the air flow. This fan is fitted right above the rectangular box that contains power supply and power supply fan. Seanform - What kind of oil can be put in it? Does anybody else think putting oil in it might work (even if for a short period)? I...

    Replacing the case fan

The computer makes a noise on startup. After a minute or so the noise goes away. I have determined, to the best of my knowlege, that the cooling fan is making the noise. The current model is: DC Brushless #ASB0812HH; 12V, 3 pins manufactured by Delta Electronics, Inc. If I want to replace the...

Blocking the airflow with hand doesn't cause any change in noise; i lready tried. I will see if a wire is rubbing against the fan; I didn't even think of that. I will also check all the screws again as well as wires and then post back if it worked or not. No, garebo I don't have any hard...

    Buzzing sound from computer

Yes, I checked the screws; they are all tight. I also thought that the cpu fan might be making the noise, but it seems to be working fine...and I don't know how I can tell that it is specifically the fan. I have an HP Pavillion 9680c.

I noticed a buzzing sound emanating from my computer this morning. Sometimes the noise is gone on its own. I know that this sound is not coming from the hard drive. Any suggestions? I'll appreciate any help or suggestions. Thank you livesfreely
