I would nail it at 100/full personally. But, to answer your question:
The syntax is correct. You got the order backwards.
set port speed x/y auto
set port duplex x/y auto
Hope that helps
computerhighwayguy:
the static is created. I can clear xlate and then a show xlate...nothing, which is expected. I ping from the outside to .11 and run sh xlate...the static is created. Ping, of course, is a no go. I have provided the debug ICMP TRACE but Im no PIX guy so I dont completely...
I have created an ACL called test allowing averything through. I then applied this to the outside interface.
Result: I can ping the 32.x.y.z addresses from the PIX. The 32 network can ping to the PIX (outside interface). I cannot ping the 32.x.y.11 address. That is a static through which I...
Anyone have any experience setting virtual telnet for a range of IPs and not just a static address? The only docs on Cisco I found have statics for one host, I need to autheniticate and authorize telnet for an entire subnet.
Any ideas?
You can mix and match the cards. The switch-fabric enabled cards will utilize the Sup720 Switch Fabric, the others will fall back to crossbar switching.
Hope this helps.
We are a large test lab containing well over 20 6509s/6513s.
Currently, each switch is set to transparent mode. We are playing with the idea of implementing VTP domains with VTP server. Anyone have any experience with this (large scale migration from transparent to VTP domain)? Any gotchas...
I figured it out.
This PIX is replacing an AIX firewall. To translate the AIX rulset into ACL I had whipped up a lab on the raised floor and printed the rules. For endsations, I was given two laptops.
The laptops had personal firewall software installed (corporate policy) and that was...
Still no dice. I modified my ACL to mimic "dix1" ACL and no go. I checked the cables and they're good. I think it is a NAT problem. Do I need a static NAT? The only Cisco doc I found on it has a static NAT. Otherwise, it looks like "dix1"'s ACL.
I verified I have cabled it right too. I...
This is driving me nuts. I have a clean 525 install and
I want to allow internal clients to ping outside hosts at will. I know the PIX allows ICMP outbound and drops the incoming reply by default. I have set the following ACL in our 525 (the only ACL configured for now):
access-list ping-out...
In rommon, try a sh flash to see if an IOS image is still there. From the sounds of it, I bet the flash is empty so you will have to TFTP the image onto the router.
Once the flash has a good copy of the IOS you should be all set.

We are replacing an old 2501 perimeter router with a 2610 at a client. The old NAT pool was set up a little wierd so I tried the following config on NAT:
access-list 1 deny host a.b.c.8
access-list 1 deny host a.b.c.10
access-list 1 permit a.b.c.0 0.0.0.255
!
ip nat translation timeout 86400...
Can you ping each of the four IPs from the outside?
What does a tracert show you for each IP?
Does the problem occur with one IP bound to the server?

Try setting the Win98 clients to Master Browser Desierable to "OFF". That's pretty close to the actual setting as listed under the advanced properties. You'll know it wehn you see it.
This setting resides under:
NetworkNeighborhood->NICAdpater->Advanced

It will work as you suspect.
Your problem is, as stated above in several posts, Netbios. Netbios should not be running on your network if all your boxes are 2000 or XP. If you have non DDNS aware clients, your stuck. So pester your boss for funds to upgrade...won't be long before Win9x is...
It is possible.
Create your two seperate domains. Turn off Netbios. You should be using DHCP and DDNS. IF it is configured correctly, a PC can swap domains with no problem on the same subnet.

Let me see if I follow you:
Regardless of which T1 is "active", you have complete connectivity within your network. Yes?
With the "old ISP" up, you can browse the internet. Right?
The "new ISP" only works with the "old ISP" plugged in. ok?
What is the...
