On the system disk there is only one file that you need to copy over to the old system. I believe that file name is system.exe or sys.exe Its been along time since I worked on these system so you would have to check the file name.

That would make sense , but there not using MSM Messenger or Windows Messenger. They are using Outlook for there mail and that only gets updated when you either open Outlook or click on the send/receive button. See , another mystery of the universe.

When you have Multiple users in XP you get this nice screen with the users name, a picture and if that user has email. Does anyone know what drive the email status on this screen. It seems that after you have read all your email it take a long time before that counter is set to 0. Thanks

I had the same problem on a machine. I did a system restore back 2 days and now the machine is running as usual. Im almost sure that the problem was the last Microsoft Update, but not sure which one. Im going to do some research on this and will post my findings. Take care

Well I figured out the problem. It seems that the machine had some sort of System Diag software that was causing a problem with the anti-virus and the 2000 login. Dont ask me how , but after I removed the software, everything was back to normal.. Thanks
