Hi Grenage,
Thanks for getting back to me. I've checked it and have unchecked the "Disable OOF replys to the internet" Although both machines I described in my first post are on the local network. But I shall test it later on today :)
thanks
Rob
when I send an email to an exchange mailbox, I recieve an out of office reply. When I send a message to the same inbox, but from a different mailbox and computer I don't recieve the out of office reply. The machine that works is running Windows XP, and using office XP. The machine that doesn't...
Is there any way whereby a user account can make a successful login to an exchange mail box, with out any of the settings in place at the server and the client?
there seems to be a particular range of IP's (we use the 10.0.0.0 range) The chances are these machines were set up by our developers, and they're a law unto themselves!!! Asof yet I haven't checked the settings, but I was wondering if there was any particular area I should be looking at...
I haven't looked into the mx record yet, thanks for the suggestion.
So far as Barclays is concerned, trying to get hold of anyone who admits to knowing about thier systems is nigh on impossible!!!
Hi, thanks for replying.
Yes we are using a packet filter, as we were advised that the proxied filters weren't very good. We've got ver 6.2 with the latest service packon the firebox itself. Our main email server is Exchange 5.5 but it uses GFI Mailessentials to send smtp mail.
Hope this helps.
Yeah a dial up does bypass the firewall. I've been through all the firewall settings and there isn't a sausage in there that would get in the way. We don't have any problems with any other companies, just barclays :(
Telnet produces this error imediatly, and it will do it not matter which of the pool of barclays servers responds. They don't have problems from any other company just us. I can telnet to it fine if I use a dial up connection.
421 4.0.0 mailgate02.barclays.co.uk Server error
I've searched high and lowand I can't find anything usefull. anyone here care to put me out of my misery?
Thanks

I'm not 100% sure that this is the right forum to be posting this on, but it's as good a start as any.
Since installing our FB V1000 we have been unable to send emails to a large customer of ours. I can see now rhyme or reason as to why this is (not) happening. the error I get when trying to...
Looking at the traffic monitor on my FB the internal clients are continually trying to send to private IP address ie, 172.16.0.3 Why would they be doing this, and is there any way to stop them?
Thanks

Is there a way to install the firewall client via a login script without any user intervention at all? I tried using the /s switch but it still came up asking the user to clilck next. I'd like for this to be completely silent.
thanks
Rob
I installed it as a cache server without the firewalling bits. It's only got the one network card. When I enable the caching proxy server on the firewall, I get error reports from the ISA server stating that the url is forbidden! I've tried anumber of common sites,google.co.uk microsoft.co.uk etc.
Morning all,
I'm trying to configure my Firebox 1000 to use a MS ISA server as a caching proxy server. I've configured the firewall correctly (or at least I think I have) but I'm not 100% sure I've got the proxy server set up right. can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Rob
Fair enough. what would be the implications of doing this? I'm not ready to roll out AD yet, but I only have a PDC, so I'd like some form of backup but I don't want to implement another NT4 controller if I can help it.
