when I send an email to an exchange mailbox, I recieve an out of office reply. When I send a message to the same inbox, but from a different mailbox and computer I don't recieve the out of office reply. The machine that works is running Windows XP, and using office XP. The machine that doesn't work is running Windows 2K with office 2K.

Thanks

Do you have "disable out of office replies to the internet" disabled under the IMS ?

Hi Grenage,

Thanks for getting back to me. I've checked it and have unchecked the "Disable OOF replys to the internet" Although both machines I described in my first post are on the local network. But I shall test it later on today :)

thanks

Rob

I'm having the same problem. Outlook 2000 and Exchange 5.5 OOF not replying at all. Just start on its own and nothing has really changed. Systems have been rebooted and setting checked for changes--nothing.

Any suggestions?

I know what I know and that's all I know.

Whoheard - Try logging into the user's e-mail account via Outlook Web and enable the Out of Office assitant. If that doesn't work, the Clean Sweep Tool can be used to correct the problem. Instructions are at ;(I found the Clnswp32.dll file out on the internet.) You may need to get a copy of the Microsoft Exchange Client in order to run the Clean Sweep Tool.

It cleans out mailbox rules. I guess the Out of Office Assistant is some form of a rule so using the clean sweep tool can fix the issue if it's a rule problem. I had a problem with the Out of Office Assistant not working for a single mailbox in my company and I tried just about everything short of deleting the mailbox to fix it. Eventually I came across the clean sweep tool and that fixed the problem.
