We're about to start a re-image project and want to begin using Zen 4 imaging. The way our DHCP server is configured is that a capital alpha letter has to be the first character of the computer name. We don't control it locally so I have to find a work around. I'm a total linux newbie and am...
I'm having trouble getting some Win98SE PCs to run the nal desktop shell with Zen 4.01 release 5. Works fine with Zen 3.2. I think it is failing trying to find the equivalent to the zenapp32.dll file. I placed that file on the workstation and on the server but no luck.
A little background info....
large tree for state government agency. My OU contains mix of 5.0, 5.1 and 6.0 servers on different versions of ds.nlm. All servers are listed in DNS. I only have two print queues that will be gone soon. Plan to do an ACU on all workstations to bring up to 3.40...
IPX is a "chatty" protocol with smaller packet size. However, in some legacy apps, it is your only choice unless you have the server set to encapsulate IPX inside IP.
I have a project that involves installing PCs with internet access in a public area. I want to permanently remove IE's address bar and have been told that this is accomplished through html/scripting on the web page itself.
I presumed it would be done through the ieak toolkit.
I've searched...

I've searched Google to no avail. Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks.
We were having rampant NDPS write fault errors about 1.5 years ago in our NW 5.x and Win 98 environment. Novell client upgrades and service packs seemed to resolve the problem. Well, that, and putting the user on a 100mb port.
We've now moved to NW 6 sp3 and client 3.40 for Win 98 and the...
Must be specific to ZFD 4. I have volatile user unchecked in my ZFD 3.2 and when my mobile users go mobile, they just check workstation only and put in the password.
Recently deployed WinXP Pro on laptops and enabled its firewall. I completely forgot that doing so would prevent Zen remote management. I've found the TCP and UDP ports Zen needs to use and where to input the info. I'm just trying to figure out how to get the changes on 200 laptops in a four...
I'm having issues with that I need some help with. Netware 5.1 sp6, Zen 3.2 sp2 and client 4.90 on Windows XP workstations. I created the dynamic user policy to use Netware credentials to create an administrator account when creating the XP user account. This works fine until the user's password...
Need some assistance/suggestions on this one. A little background info first. All servers are 5.1 sp6 with Zen 3.2 sp2. I have 200 wireless laptop XP users. I have DLU set to use Netware credentials to try to minimize name & password problems.
The problem is that the main application they use...
Netware may not have a big following in the UK but I wouldn't ditch it just yet. I'm sure you worked too hard to give it up. Even if you just take the upgrade exams, it would be worth it.
Novell still has some large clients in the states. If I'm not mistaken the US Postal Service has the...
Not trying to sound sarcastic but did you try re-installing BE? I've seen weird things happen on my BE 8.5 servers that were corrected with a reinstall. Are you able to do basic tape functions like quick erase? What shows in your nightly BE log? Lastly, can you do a simple backup of a couple...
I've done NAT with *nix flavors in the past but as I'm becoming more and more familiar with Netware, I wanted to give it a shot at home. I know that Netware has NAT capabilities built in. I also know that you don't want your server's IP to be dynamic. Can I have one NIC as a DHCP client from my...
McAfee has it's own scheduler built in. We usually set ours for random between 12 and 1 pm on Friday. Since McAfee releases their new dats on Wednesday evenings, we update the clients on Thursdays and have them scan on Fridays.
SDAVIS, doesn't the forced reboot cause the workstation to get...
