If your drives has not been configured using persistant bindings, a reboot or a fabric reset can jumble the order of your tapedrives. Are you sure, that the order has not been altered? This is easy to check by unmounting all your drives except for one, and then do "mt -f /dev/rmt/0cbn...
Make sure that the neccesary ports are open across your network. Default ports are 7937 -> 7939 and 10000 -> 30000. Yes, that's a lot of ports :-). Try to also open for port 111 for rpc.
I've see this message on clients that runs for more than 24 hours. When a group is starting, and realizes that it's allready running, this has happened to me. Could this be your problem?
