I have a problem which i beleive is a virus, everytime i try to open an application a windows installer window pops up and says "the feature you are trying to use is on a DISk or CD-ROM that is not available

ok i worked it all out but can anyone tell me if and how you differentiate the traffic e.g internal traffic from external, from my understanding switches run on layer 2 and can only send back mac addresses.
but we want to monitor traffic to each room , and each room does not always have the same pc's therefor we need to find a method to monitor all ctraffic coming from that room hub

Im more interested in the method used by the UNI to only allow one MAC adress per room. any ideas?? Maybe if you figures this out you could get around it just a guess though.
maybe set the default gateway on the xp machine to the ip of the win2k if this doesnt work set ip on winxp to aotuconfigure as when internet sharing is set up on win2k it acts as a DHCP server.
stand alone doesnt mean theres no network connection, I believe it means there are no services which this server relies on. read what hewissa has to say
