    Schedule automatic reboot

I just setup a simple scheduled task, pointed to shutdown.exe, then after configuring the schedule, opened the task and changed the command to: C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -r -f -c "Daily reboot" The task is run by a user with domain admin rights, and the job runs successfully on about 15...

    Cannot find profile

Try adding an entry in your lmhost file just as a test, but yeah I agree it does sound like your wins is to blame.

problem loading an application using remote desktop

Hi Have you tried using the console switch: mstsc.exe /console Make any difference? Is the server running as a terminal server or does it simply have remote administration enabled? If the former, was the app installed before or after the server was configured as a terminal server? Hope this...

Terminal Server, multiple "Language bars" appear on taskbar?

Who is good here?! ;-) We've got a W2k3 TS farm (both Citrix and std W2k3 terminal servers) with several group policies which load different desktops for the various departments. The forest has no service pack applied whereas the TS boxes have SP1 installed, applied quite recently. A week or...

    Cannot find profile

Howdy, Are all your IP settings in order? No old/incorrect static entries in your lmhosts file? If you ping by FQDN do you get a reply? Lastly, it's best to assign ownership of the users roaming profile folder to the user concerned eg. \\fileserver1\home\JSoap\profile --> Assign ownership to...

    Allow logon through terminal services

Leigh, Did you come right with this? It appears that you have everything in order so I don't see why it shouldn't work, unless of course you added the user to the relevant groups and then immediately thereafter attempted to logon prior to the group membership being replicated, in the case of...

Wrong DNS server being given out in DHCP

Sounds to me like you got yourself a rogue DHCP server mate. It assigned the incorrect options then must've been offline when you went to renew the client lease and it then picked up the correct options from the correct server. I could be wrong but I have seen this before. Brent

Problems getting PXE client to receive DHCP address

Well that worked! Put all machines on an isolated network and re-installed everything from scratch. Made sure to put DHCP server and Altiris PXE server on different machines and whaddayaknow!!! Also found after recreating DHCP server that it was not assigning addresses upon normal boot so fixed...

Problems getting PXE client to receive DHCP address

Yeah it does receive an address upon normal boot, which is why this is making me so frustrated. I tried installing an active-directory DHCP server (authorized 'n all) on the machine with "PXE server" loaded but that didn't work either. I'm thinking maybe I should re-install both servers and...

Problems getting PXE client to receive DHCP address

Hi guys, girls, Please can someone help me out here... I'm struggling. All I'm trying to do is to boot a thin client using PXE but it won't pick up an IP address (no DHCP or ProxyDHCP offers were received). I've followed several tuts but none have helped at all. I'm running a w2k3 DHCP server...
