it sounds like the backup program is having trouble writing to the drive directly. Have you tried backing up the data to your harddrive the moving the data over ?

I talked to a few of they're IT people at the company and suggested doing the scan disk. They said this wouldn't make any difference because its happening while installing the program. Does anyone know if hardware in the computer can make this sort of error occour ?

Thanks for the threads im going to try running a scan disk and see if that helps. But does this error coming up mean that the problem is on my computer or on the cd. I tried using it on someone elses computer and it went through fine. It only comes up while trying to install this one program so...

Its only the one program but i have tried it with a few disks as i got new ones sent to me by the provider. They also suggested that it might be caused by a hardware problem but couldn't suggest what it may be.

When trying to install a program it gets part way through it and comes up with the error CRC Checking Failed, then gives a file name. I've tried it a few times and its a different filename each time. Any ideas ?
