Thanks psingh for the swift reply. Unfortunatly we cannot do a search for the .pst files as we can't get into Windows, unless of course you mean do a search from the command prompt with a boot disk in which case I would need to know the DOS command for search.
Secondly, I'm still not sure if...
Hi, can anyone help me. My brothers computer has completely ceased working meaning that Windows will no longer start but he needs to get certain folders off the harddrive before the machine goes in the bin. What he really neeeds to get are all his e-mails (Inbox, Drafts and sub folders ) which...
Many thanks for the help, I have fixed it with the following tweak. I know have two CD drives on my computer and am a happy bunny.
Run Regedit and check the two keys below for NoDrives in the right pane. Right
click it, select 'Modify' and set the value to '00', or 00 00 00 00. This is the...
Once again thanks, I changed the settings in BIOS from Auto to CD drive and then back to Auto, now both drives are visable in CMOS and Device Manager just not in My Computer. Whichever way I set the jumpers only the D drive is seen. In Device Manager I have the IDE controller set to "Enable...
Hi RocKeRFelLerZ, thanks for the swift reply.
I have checked the jumper settings and made sure that the master is on the end of the cable. One thing I need to ask, the CD's don't go on the same cable as the floppy or the hard drive do they? ( please forgive my stupidity ) At the moment I have...

Hi Sasy, I'm not sure whats going on with the links, it might be that because of my warranty status that I can view the pages. If you do a "google.com" search for IBM FRU 760 Manual you should get the same page as me.
Good luck,
Steve
Hi Sasy,
Dev = Device
FRU = Field Replacement Unit
The 10 and 11 refer to the system board.
Here is a hardware manual that you can download from the IBM site.

Hopefully this will help you.
Good luck,

Hi, I'm having trouble with NAV 2003. It takes anything up to five minutes to load up and in doing so makes my machine unavailable for that time. If I set "Auto Protect" NOT to start with Windows then everything is hunkey dorey. I know I can start "Auto protect" manually, but...

Hi renoWV, if you want to boot into windows from the A:\> prompt use the ctrl+alt+dlt keys (once ofcourse you've removed the floppy), this works for me on my machine and I'm pretty sure its not an IBM feature.
Good Luck
