Thanks for the reply.
It has been happening for months. Re-booting and one instance of IE6 is not the cause. I've gone to the same url for work on my web site for months...years, and several months ago the FrontPage icon is not there anymore in the task bar. I have to run FrontPage from...
I have two different web sites. In IE6 one has the Front Page icon in the task bar and will edit using Front Page. The second web site shows a book or text editor, but will not even edit with that. And, it does not offer Front Page as an editor. Both web sites have been able to edit with...

The Windows version is XP home edition. No software CDs or Disks came with the PC. After veiwing the HP site for this PC it says the "restore" software is on the 1st partition, and the user partition is the 2nd partition. The advanced restore formats the second...
Thanks Micker377.

What is that telling me?
The pc goes on to boot completely with no problems, and works OK.

Machine 1 - win2kpro on a cable connection
Machine 2 - win98se on a dial up connection
Using machine 2, I can get a vpn session or link to machine 1. However, I don't know what...
I have a ton of questions because I've never set up vpn before:
Using a Linksys BEFSR41...(between the server and DSL modem) I have enabled PPTP messaging. Do I have to point a port (1723?) to the ip of the vpn server? If that's not the correct port, can you tell me where to look?
