Are you by chance running Samba? If so your problem is a streams 'leak' where SCO allocates a stream and never releases it. Increasing streams only delays the eventual hang-up. You have to remove Samba and resintall a patched version.
Upgrading Samba will not necessarily help. There is a bug in SCO that is exploited by Samba that caused this. The only fix I know of is to make a change in the Samba source code and recompile Samba. I found the information by diging in google for a bit. I have made new VOLS of Samba 2.2.6...
Edit the /etc/securetty file.
Add the tty that you are trying to login on.
Example - pts/0
That will give you permission to login as root using telnet.
I have the exact same problem on my SCO server with 5.0.5. Streams keep being created and not released. I have to reboot every 2-3 weeks or the system will eventually lock up all TCP/IP opreations. On mine it is due to a bug in SCO that shows up when running Samba. The answer is Samba 3.0...
Are you remembering Vsifax? Or maybe UnForm?
If so - both are still available.
With Vsifax you can fax a form to the Unix box and then overlay the data and output it to a laser printer.

I have experienced the same problem with RH 7.3 about 1 month ago. I have tried changing the resolution and color depth of the video driver with no success - I still have the problem. If you do find an answer, please post it here.

I have just installed Red Hat 7.2 and have almost everything working except the system hangs shortly after going into the xwindows mode. Telnet, samba, ftp everything works. But when I go into Netscape, as I am trying to enter an url, the system simply freezes. Other gui applications work...
