Well I found my backdoor to the 9400. I thought I'd post it for any others out there needing the same information. Login as administer password: lanplex below is a cut and paste of this login being run.
CoreBuilder 9400 Boot Version 1.07
Select access level (read, write, administer)...
try username: 3comcso
password: RIP000
it will ask you to re-initialize answer "y" lowercase. The unit will reset.. you may need to power-cycle it. Now admin should have no password again.
