You can set WindowsXP to assume the online registration has been completed.
Run Regedit
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion
Create a String Value called RegDone
Give it a value of 1
XP is very tempremental especially when you change your mobo and processor! Every board and pro has an individual code and xp looks for that code when it boots so new mobo and porocessor = new codes and no boot. reformat and you will be alright
you can use a pc 100 with a pc 133 as the latter will drop down to 100megs but what is the point of having sdram on a p4 board! it defeats the object as was noted by someone else on the xp forum! make sure the ram is seated home fully
could be a power supply fault! mine did the same thing when i installed a new mobo! the fans switched on and powered the board but no video came up! worth a look
Have you been into bios (restart and press delete key on reboot? try changing the settings in there! if your not up to the job write down the changes you make as you do them so you can undo if you fail
if the pc was bought with xp already installed then try looking on the case for the serial no! Or alterativly it might have the code on a sif file in the windows programme
