Every system I build with a K7S5A mobo has the same problem. When I go to power it off it goes into some sort of sleep mode. The fan runs, and hitting the button again just brings my screen back up the way it was. I went to msconfig and disabled fast shutdown, and went to Power Management and changed standby to never. Now the machine shuts down and automatically restarts. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you been into bios (restart and press delete key on reboot? try changing the settings in there! if your not up to the job write down the changes you make as you do them so you can undo if you fail

Actually I did go into the bios and disable power management and it fixes the problem. But it seems hard to believe that that is the only option.

I had such a problem few weeks ago on three totally different computers (pII & P4), as each of them is restarting whenever I try to shutdown. I solved the problem by changing the Power Supply. It worked, so try using another power supply, if it worked, go and buy it.
