In the past couple of days, I've notice that many windows that used to automatically close no longer do.
For instance, when I open a folder window and choose a file inside the folder, both windows now stay open instead of closing the first one.

I just installed Norton Antivirus 2004 Professional Edition. I'm running Windows 2000 OS.
When I try to run Live Update, I get an "LU1853" error. I went to the Symantec site to search the Knowledge Base. It said to delete the "Downloads" folder in the Live Update Folder...
I am trying to totally delete ALL reference to Symantec Norton Antivirus that is in my registry. I have deleted all expect those in the LEGACY applications folders.
How can I (or should I) delete these LEGACY references?
Don't want to mess up my registry. I have backed it up just in case...
I backed up all my files from the old c: drive prior to reformatting. Is there anything I can copy back from the old c: to the new c: to recognize the d: drive programs?

I have two physical hard drives, one c: the other d:.
I just reformatted the C: drive and reinstalled Windows 2000 OS. How can I tell the newly formatted C: drive to recognize all the programs on the d: drive? I would like to see the d: programs in my start up menu.
Is this now possible...
I did run chkdsk, but couldn't get it to accept chkdsk /p.
Couldn't figure out fixboot or fixmbr at command prompt (sorry but don't know much about DOS commands).
Could you please explain in more detail how I type it in?

I recently deleted some Symantec Norton program files in my registry. Now, I can't reboot to normal. It gives me STOP error messages concerning device drivers. Just before it quit rebooting, I was having program installation problems where programs wouldn't fully load.
